Canterbury Cathedral


The Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest and most famous churches in England. The cathedral is the Mother Church of the Anglican Communion and seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The formal name for the cathedral is the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Christ at Canterbury. The history of the cathedral dates back to 597AD, when St Augustine established his seat in Canterbury. Thomas Becket was murdered in the cathedral in 1170 and since then it has attracted many people.
